Thought of the month

May

This month I’d like you to think about your car’s fuel injectors and intake valves.  These parts work together to deliver a very specific amount of fuel to each cylinder.

The injectors are like small spray nozzles that spray pressurized fuel near the intake valves that end up in the combustion chamber and combined with air make up the fuel mixture that gets ignited by the spark plugs to make power.

Over time, injectors start to clog up and don’t spray fuel in the correct amount or the correct spray pattern due to carbon and fuel deposits.  Even the best fuel can cause this over time.

The intake valves also accumulate carbon over time.  This carbon acts like a sponge and soaks up more and more fuel.  Instead of the fuel and air mixture going past the valves to the combustion chamber, some of it gets absorbed by the carbon making it worse over time.

Performing a Motorvac fuel injection service will clear out clogged injectors and strip away carbon off the valves.  This should be done every 50,000 miles.  If your car feels sluggish, this service will “wake up” your car giving you better fuel economy and performance.

As us about it next time you’re in or send me an email.  I’d be glad to discuss it further.
